Espen is so integrated in the US you would forget he's Norwegian. Every time I think about if the roles were reversed I'm not sure I would be able to do as well as he does integrating and not being able to visit friends and family as often as I get to. Espen is so close to his family. Ironically though since Espen and I have known each other (10 years, can't believe it!) he has not been with everyone all at once. It's been 7 years since he saw his sister Camilla. 2 years since he saw his parents and brother and about 11 since they've all been together. It's a special Christmas for sure!!
It's been hard not being able to post my anticipation and excitement for such a special occasion (and if you know me I am not one for surprises only for exposing the surprise!....we've yet to actually wait for Christmas day to open presents because I insist on showing Espen what I got him and making him give me mine way before that day comes!) This is a Christmas Miracle!
We are certainly happy to get to share Christmas with Espen's family AND in the North Pole of all places! If I see reindeer or the real Santa Claus I will certainly take a selfie so please stay tuned!
Toril (Espen's mom) was certainly surprised and so worried that she hadn't cleaned and made up the room for us....hehe...it was so fun she couldn't stop shaking. :)
